Some updates from Debi Crawford:
The HeART of Portland is an art collaboration with the Portland Art Museum. I am so proud of the students and their artistic talent, I always participate. This year more than seventy 5th graders participated in doing the LoterĂa cards. Their artwork on the project was amazing. Unfortunately, only 25 could be chosen for the exhibit. With the help of another teacher and parent, we chose 25 cards (with 4 alternates) to be part of the exhibit. These students currently have art on display in the Mark Building at the PAM through the end of May: Chase, Cash, Anjella, Amelia, Harper Miller, Ellie, Sequioa, Madrona, Hudson, Sylvie, Finn C., Lila, Lucy, Madina, Sabrina, Jessica, Whitney, Rory, Amillia, Morrison,Charlie, Willa, Jaxon, Elise, Makena, Zander, Cayden, Holly, and Dash. Congratulations!
In addition to the LoterĂa cards, I am asked to choose one piece of art from the year from a student who does exceptionally well in art class. There are a great many of my students who fall into this category. This year, Ellie Townsend has her Vassily Kandinsky “Storm of Music” piece showcased in the digital slideshow at the Portland Art Museum during the HeART of Portland. Congratulations, Ellie!
The project coincides with the Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera exhibit.
